WINE CELLAR

Hidden Room of Casks, acrylic on drywall

   This Hidden Room painting was designed to highlight a finely crafted wine cellar in a house featured in the Parade of Homes. I challenged myself to go beyond the typical vineyard scene; I imagined a hidden room full of casks of wine.
​This was incredibly challenging!

TROMPE L'OEIL

Trompe L'Oeil 
is French for "to fool the eye". The technique involves creating a painting that looks so real, it deceives the viewer into thinking he or she is seeing something dimensional. It is most effective when used 
in conjunction with real objects.

In this instance, (left) a Robert Frost poem, of special meaning 
to the client, greets the viewer at the base of the stairs.
