COVID COLLECTION

Three women carry weighty world issues on their backs and shoulders in a compassionate way. My visual was inspired by the Corona Virus Pandemic and the mounting U.S. political tension. Created for Women's History month.

Directly influenced by the pandemic, and the imposed stay at home orders, I started thinking about dysfunctional families with abusive members and the effects of quarantine in a toxic environment. I worried about children, and a potentially harsh situation. Any family is vulnerable to such duress under pressure and tight quarters. I chose to make people the color of their emotions. I closed the kitchen around to make the scene more claustrophobic.

Thinking of a sea of people on their way to work, shoulder to shoulder, and moving about their daily life... I imagined how this virus could eradicate people, and their space in the commuter world would be erased. Some have masks and definition, others are mostly invisible as the sea lifts and disappears into Heaven.
